Getting started

Is AIndex a cloud service?

No. AIndex is local software that indexes your repo on your own machine. Only billing, license delivery and docs are hosted — your code never is.

How does activation work?

Checkout issues a signed license token. You install it with one CLI command, and paid features unlock locally — no account login on your machine.

How does it actually help my agent?

It serves each task a tiered context capsule over MCP — full source for the pivotal symbols, signatures for neighbors — typically 4–8k tokens instead of 20–50k, up to ~80% fewer.

Privacy & security

Does my source code leave my machine?

Never. Your repo is read and indexed locally into a dependency graph stored on disk. Nothing is uploaded and there's no telemetry.

Can my team run it fully offline?

Yes — Enterprise includes an offline license with no network checks, made for air-gapped environments.

How do I trust what ships?

Every release is Ed25519-signed and comes with a public SBOM and build provenance, so you can verify exactly what you're running.

Billing & plans

What happens if my license expires?

AIndex keeps working and simply falls back to the Free tier limits until you renew. You're never locked out of your own index.

Can I buy it once?

Yes. Lifetime is a one-time license that grants the Pro entitlement — €99 for the first 100 customers, then €199.

What's the refund policy?

14 days money-back on any paid plan. See the refund page for how renewals, annual plans and Enterprise are handled.

Support

Which agents and editors does it support?

Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code and Zed in one setup command — and any MCP-capable agent, since it's built on MCP.

Which languages can it index?

16 languages, including TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Rust, Go, Java, C, C++, C#, Ruby, PHP, Bash and Swift. All 16 get symbol-level indexing; cross-file dependency edges are extracted for the core 9 (TS/JS, Python, Rust, Go, Java, C, C++, C#).
